Suzuki Training/ Parent Classes

As a violin teacher, I would like to take as many training courses as possible. I am especially drawn to the Suzuki Training Method. This summer, there is an introductory course in Oakland. I called to register for the class, and the woman in the office mentioned to me that parents are encouraged to attend as well. If anyone would be interested in learning more about the Suzuki Method, please sign up. We can all get lunch together and have a great time.

Text from the website:

"Every Child Can!© (ECC) is an introduction to Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy and its application to Suzuki education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning.

In addition to exploring the elements of the Suzuki approach and its far-reaching goals, it includes an introduction to learning styles, history of the development of Suzuki education, the role of parents, the importance of Suzuki pedagogical training, and an overview of the SAA’s role in supporting teachers and parents. A fast-paced, engaging and inspiring program, ECC includes video materials and SAA-developed courseware, and provides each participant with useful reference materials (manuals) for later study. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas’ Teacher Development Program."

Summer Camp Choices for Violinists (all ages and abilities)

As a parent you may be thinking, "Music summer camps are only for advanced players." This is not the case! There are many options for violin players of all levels. Most of the camps require at least one year of lessons.

Camp can be a vital experience for a young musician. This is where they can feel confortable expanding their musical knowledge, meeting new friends, and becoming even more inspired and motivated to play.

My goal is to have as many of my students as possible attend a summer camp this year 2011. Here are some great choices all recommended by our instructors here at Bows and Bridges.

Should you have any questions please feel free to email your teacher. I can provide the forms for registering. Also, extra lessons may be available during the week of camps upon space available and requests.

Music Together Classes for Pre-school and Below

Since joining the Children's Music Network I have met so many talented and fun music teachers. This is a local music class for young people. These classes are great for introducing music to children in a fun, interactive environment. The teachers are all professionals and have to be certified. Please click the link below for classes on the Peninsula:
